Adoption Process
The adoption process begins with the submission of an application, which will be reviewed by our team. We will conduct reference checks and verify with the applicant's veterinarian to ensure that any current pets are well cared for and up to date on vaccinations. If deemed necessary, a home visit will be scheduled. The applicant will then have the opportunity to meet with adoptable animals to find the best match for their household. Following the adoption, we will conduct a follow-up to assess how everyone is adjusting.

About Us: We are a non-profit organization established in 1965 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) corporation. Our team operates entirely through volunteer efforts, with no paid staff. Our funding comes exclusively from donations, memberships, grants, fundraising activities, and the sales generated by our thrift shop. We are independent and not affiliated with any shelters, nor do we receive financial support from county or state governments. We serve the Northern Neck counties of Lancaster, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Richmond. Mission Statement: Our mission is to reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. We aim to promote respect and compassion for all animals through humane education, alleviate the suffering of animals, prevent cruelty to animals, provide veterinary care for stray or injured animals, and find quality homes for unwanted dogs and cats.
