Adoption Process

To adopt, you must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid identification. If there are children in your household, they must be present during the Meet and Greet. Additionally, any household dogs should also meet the potential pet. We strongly recommend that all household members attend the Meet and Greet. The adoption fees are as follows: $85 for dogs and cats under one year old, $60 for those over one year old, and there is no fee for dogs and cats over five years old.

The Humane Society of Central Texas is dedicated to providing adoption, rescue, and foster opportunities for homeless animals at the Waco Animal Shelter, located at 2032 Circle Road in Waco, Texas. With the support of our community, we have achieved No Kill Status, which means that at least 90% of the approximately 4,000 animals we receive each year leave the shelter and find loving new homes.
