Choose a dog or cat, complete an online adoption application, and SARA will contact you within 24-48 hours to arrange an appointment for a meet & greet, followed by signing an adoption agreement; the adoption fee for dogs and cats is $200.

Sara Sanctuary in Seguin, TX

Sara Sanctuary is an animal shelter located in Seguin, Texas, in Guadalupe County, about 30 miles west of San Antonio, TX, and is one of 10 animal shelters and rescues serving Guadalupe County. Standing for the Society for Animal Rescue & Adoption, it has operated since 1996 and now ranks among the world's largest sanctuaries, caring for more than 750 animals of over a dozen species at any given time regardless of species, special health needs, or temperament. The sanctuary provides food, veterinary care, and daily love to every animal in its care, and while it works to find forever homes through adoption, many farm animals, dogs, and cats for whom adoption isn't possible remain permanent residents supported through sponsorships. Running on roughly $4,000 a day in operating costs, it has relied on community donors and volunteers for more than 30 years to sustain its mission of "Unconditional Life."
