Second Chance Pet Rescue in Corning, CA

Second Chance Pet Rescue was established to support the Corning Animal Shelter, which is a high-kill facility. Our mission is to prevent the euthanasia of adoptable animals. We ensure that animals in our care are trained to sit and walk on a leash, receive exercise twice a day, and are vaccinated and sterilized prior to adoption. Recognizing the large population of pit bulls at the shelter, we sought further education on the breed and subsequently developed our Ambassador program. Despite the shelter's classification as a "kill" facility, our efforts have resulted in no euthanizations to make space for the past three years.
