About this shelter

Russell Rescue, Inc. in Moorpark, CA

Russell Rescue, Inc. is a rescue organization based in Moorpark, California, in Ventura County, about 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and is one of 16 animal shelters/rescues serving Ventura County. It operates as a nationwide network of volunteers dedicated to placing unwanted, displaced, or abandoned Jack Russell Terriers into permanent homes, using foster homes or keeping dogs with their current owners until a suitable placement is found. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it is funded entirely by tax-deductible donations, adoption fees, and surrender fees, which cover temporary housing, veterinary care, spaying/neutering, and food. Beyond adoption placement, Russell Rescue also works to protect the breed through education of pet owners and breeders.
