Carroll County Humane Society in Mckenzie, TN
Carroll County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter located in McKenzie, Tennessee, roughly 70 miles northeast of Clarksville, TN, and is one of two shelters serving Carroll County. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded entirely by private donations, bequests, fundraising, and grants, it cares for approximately 100 dogs and cats at a time between its shelter building and area foster homes, never euthanizing to make space or limiting how long an animal may stay. The shelter promotes adoption and spay/neuter as the community's tools for animal population control, works to place companion animals in safe, loving homes, and provides shelter to abused animals while assisting law enforcement in prosecuting abusers.
