About this shelter

Humane Society of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK

The Humane Society of Tulsa is located at 6232 E. 60th St. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, roughly 6 miles east of Broken Arrow, and is one of 25 animal shelters and rescues serving Tulsa County. The organization works to bring pets and people together and keep them together, offering dog and cat adoptions, disaster response services such as search and rescue and emergency sheltering, and a Stay Together program that helps families facing emergencies with pet food, supplies, and emergency veterinary care. Every adopted pet leaves with a collar and metal identification tag, and the shelter's Dog Day Out program lets approved volunteers take shelter dogs on outings to reduce stress and boost their visibility to potential adopters. The shelter also handles large-scale rescues, including hoarding cases, commercial breeder closings, and defunct shelter situations.
