Modjeska Ranch Rescue is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue organization based in Foothill, California, in Orange County, roughly 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Founded by Russell and Teresa Taylor in 2001, it is dedicated to finding homes for neglected and abandoned animals and has placed more than 6,000 animals into new homes since its founding. Every animal is evaluated by a local veterinarian, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered, with sick or injured animals treated until healthy before being released for adoption, and each is assessed individually to match it with the right home environment. Orange County is home to 37 other animal shelters and rescues alongside Modjeska Ranch Rescue.
