Hand Me Down Dobes, Inc. is an animal shelter located in Columbus, Ohio, in Franklin County, roughly 3 miles southeast of the city, where 27 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. It is one of the oldest and largest Doberman rescues in Ohio, also serving parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and has placed well over 1,000 Dobermans into loving, forever homes. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, it rescues homeless and unwanted Dobermans—many abandoned or abused—and places them in foster homes to regain their health, trust, and confidence before adoption. The organization is affiliated with the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, abides by its code of ethics, and works to educate the public on responsible, humane pet care including spaying, neutering, and training.
