Greyhound Adoption of Ohio in Cleveland, OH
Greyhound Adoption of Ohio is an animal shelter based in Cleveland, Ohio, located in Cuyahoga County, about 4 miles northeast of the city, alongside 41 other animal shelters and rescues in the county. Founded in 1993, it is the largest and oldest greyhound adoption organization in the state of Ohio, specializing in placing retired racing greyhounds into loving, committed homes for life. The organization primarily operates through its kennel rather than a broad foster network, using foster homes only on a limited basis, such as when the kennel is overcrowded or for special-needs dogs, and it offers ongoing support to help adopted greyhounds transition into their new families. Beyond adoption, GAO provides ways for the community to help through donations, wish-list contributions, greyhound sponsorships, and volunteering.
