Alaskan Malamute Assitance League in Mt. Gilead, OH
The Alaskan Malamute Assistance League is a national rescue organization dedicated to the health and well-being of all Alaskan Malamutes, with its main objectives centered on rehabilitating and re-homing rescued Malamutes and assisting Malamute owners. The organization operates through local state affiliates who coordinate adoption, fostering, and volunteer efforts in their respective regions, and it has been active for over 20 years, having celebrated its 20th anniversary of rescue work. Based in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, in Morrow County, roughly 40 miles south of Columbus, the league shares its county with three other animal shelters or rescues. It also publishes a regular newsletter, AMAL Tales, and maintains a pedigree database for the breed.
