Hopalong Animal Rescue in Oakland, CA
Hopalong Animal Rescue is located in Oakland, California, within Alameda County, about 10 miles west of San Francisco, and is one of 27 animal shelters and rescues serving the Alameda County area. Hopalong and Second Chance Animal Rescue work together to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable animals throughout Northern California through adoption and prevention services. Partnering with shelters across the Bay Area and Central California counties, the organization identifies animals at risk of immediate euthanasia and facilitates their placement into loving homes. Volunteers play a key role in these efforts, with a Volunteer Coordinator scheduling orientations for those who sign up to help.
