About this shelter

Chihuahua Rescue & Transport - NM in Peralta, NM

Chihuahua Rescue & Transport - NM is a rescue organization based in Peralta, New Mexico, in Valencia County, about 15 miles north of Albuquerque, and shares the county with 10 other animal shelters and rescues. As part of the larger Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CRT) network, it is a non-profit dedicated to rescuing Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes, relying on a network of dedicated volunteers to attend to each dog's medical, emotional, and behavioral needs. CRT does not house dogs in shelters but instead places them in carefully screened foster homes, with the goal of moving each rescue into an approved forever home or long-term foster care. The organization has successfully placed thousands of rescued dogs into forever homes over the years.
