Hearts United for Animals is a no-kill, nonprofit animal shelter located in Auburn, Nebraska, in Nemaha County, about 50 miles north of Bellevue, NE. The organization is dedicated to relieving the suffering of domestic animals by providing quality shelter, sanctuary, and adoption services for dogs and cats, while also promoting animal welfare issues, and has facilitated thousands of adoptions since 1989. HUA also operates a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, closing to the public on Wednesdays to run it, and offers adoptions by appointment only. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it relies on donations and partnerships with groups like Best Friends Animal Society and the Bissell Pet Foundation to support its work.
