New Rattitude is an animal shelter located in Lansing, Michigan, in Clare County, roughly 80 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, and shares Clare County with 2 other animal shelters and rescues. It operates as a national, foster-home-based rescue made up of Rat Terrier lovers from across the country who work together to rescue Rat Terriers and Rat Terrier mixes and place them in a nationwide network of private foster homes until permanent, screened, and approved adoptive homes are found. Incorporated on August 4, 2008, the organization has rescued and rehomed over 2,900 Rat Terriers throughout its history. Beyond rehoming dogs, New Rattitude also provides educational resources on Rat Terrier temperament and characteristics to help ensure good matches between dogs and adopters.
