Adoption Process
To adopt one of our dogs in need, the most efficient way to begin the process is by completing our online application and submitting it promptly. Our CSAC Placement team will review your application, which includes a background check and, if applicable, verification of the veterinary history of any current or past pets you have owned. If your application is approved, we will reach out to you via phone or email to arrange a home visit at a convenient time. Provided the home visit goes well, you will have the opportunity to schedule a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. The final step in the adoption process is completing the Adoption Agreement, which must be signed by both the adopter(s) and a CSAC representative. Adoption fees are as follows: $400 for puppies up to 1 year 11 months, $350 for dogs aged 2 years to 4 years 11 months, $300 for dogs aged 5 years to 8 years 11 months, $250 for dogs aged 9 years and older. These fees help cover the significant expenses associated with caring for our dogs. On average, the adoption fee accounts for 60% of the costs incurred. By the time of adoption, all dogs have been examined by one or more board-certified veterinarians. They will have received all necessary treatment, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and heartworm tests, ensuring their health and well-being to the best of our ability. We make every effort to assess the temperament and behavior of our animals, ensuring they are socialized as much as possible. We are transparent with potential adopters about our dogs, providing all available information. While we cannot guarantee the health or temperament of any of our rescue dogs due to limited knowledge of their history, we strive to care for them as effectively as possible. Our main goal is to place these animals in safe and loving homes where they will be cherished members of the family for the rest of their lives. Occasionally, we feature mixed breed dogs and other breeds in need of homes, and you may also see a cat or two on our pages. We are committed to helping all animals in need. If you are looking for a special lifelong companion, please explore our list of adoptable animals. These dogs are eager to please and many have been abandoned or mistreated by those they should have been able to trust. We hope you will join us in providing them with the second chance they deserve.

Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center in Westminster, MD
Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a virtual rescue organization that does not operate from a physical location. Instead, we function as a network of fosters, adopters, and rescue partners primarily situated in northeastern Maryland and south-central Pennsylvania. We welcome applications from anyone willing to travel to adopt a dog. As an all-volunteer organization, our capacity to complete the application process, including home visits, may be limited based on geographical location, but we will make every effort to accommodate applicants. Our mission is to rescue cocker spaniels and provide them with the necessary medical, emotional, and behavioral care to help them become wonderful pets. We are dedicated to finding safe and loving forever homes for the cocker spaniels in our care. Founded in 1995 and incorporated in 2003, Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center emerged in response to the growing need for adoptive homes for cocker spaniels arriving at local kill shelters and humane societies. Our organization consists entirely of volunteers who assist in the rescue and placement of cocker spaniels, as well as honorary cocker spaniels, across the East Coast of the United States and Canada. What sets Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center apart from many other breed rescues is our inclusive approach. We accept all cocker spaniels, regardless of age or medical condition, rather than only those that are young and healthy. We believe that every dog has love to offer. Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
