Adoption Process

The adoption process requires submitting an application, and all references will be verified, including your veterinarian. A contract is necessary for the adoption, and while there are no fees, donations are appreciated. Each prospective adopter will be screened in person, and all adoptions are subject to the discretion of the Director.

The Ark of Hope Rescue, Inc. is a rescue organization located near Cumberland, Maryland, dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. The organization is managed by Dianne Care, her husband Bobby, their son Bobby III, and their daughter Elizabeth, who all share a commitment to caring for these animals. Dianne has been involved in animal rescue for many years, but the increasing costs of veterinary bills, food, spaying and neutering, and other necessary supplies became financially challenging. In response, they established the organization to educate the community about animal care and encourage support. They have also constructed a new facility designed to accommodate long-term rescues—animals that require medical attention or have minor behavioral issues that need to be addressed before they can be placed in new homes.
