Wayne County Humane Society in Fairfield, IL

We serve as Wayne County's Humane Society and animal control organization. Our team consists of two full-time employees and one part-time employee, along with dedicated volunteers who help walk dogs and socialize cats. We are committed to caring for animals in our rural community, where there is a significant population of strays and unwanted pets. Our mission is driven by a desire to improve the lives of these animals and to find them loving, permanent homes.

Adoption process

The adoption fees for cats are $45 for those up to 6 months old and $75 for those over 6 months. For dogs, the fees are $100 for those up to 6 months and $150 for those over 6 months. Each adoption includes microchipping, spaying or neutering, and a rabies vaccination. We require the name and phone number of a veterinarian before or at the time of adoption. The application for adoption requires the name, address, and phone number of the adopter.
