Kankakee County Animal Control & Adoption Center in Bourbonnais, IL
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting stray, abandoned, neglected, and needy pets in Kankakee County. Our mission includes educating the public about animal welfare and care, emphasizing the importance of vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering to help reduce pet overpopulation. Many of the animals in our care arrive as strays or are surrendered by owners who can no longer provide for them. Despite our limited resources, we work diligently to meet the needs of these animals and to find them new, loving, and permanent homes. We firmly believe that the responsibility for these pets lies with their owners. We will not accept the guilt associated with the challenges of pet ownership, as we did not create the circumstances that led to these animals becoming a burden.
