SaveTheAnimalsRescueSociety,Inc.STARS in Augusta, GA
Save The Animals Rescue Society, Inc. (STARS) is a rescue organization based in Augusta, Georgia, located in Richmond County, roughly 6 miles southeast of the city, and shares the county with 6 other animal shelters and rescues. STARS is licensed by the State of Georgia as a rescue shelter and operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization that places animals through a network of foster homes rather than a physical facility. The group accepts animals from local animal control shelters as well as private releases from Richmond and Columbia Counties and the broader CSRA area, quarantining and vaccinating each animal, testing and treating for heartworm as needed, and requiring spay/neuter before adoption. Its mission centers on eliminating unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets, promoting responsible pet ownership through education, and advocating for stronger spay/neuter and anti-cruelty measures.
