About this shelter
Reality's Chance Rescue & Sanctuary in Pleasant Lake, MI
Reality's Chance Rescue & Sanctuary is a horse rescue located in Pleasant Lake, Michigan, about 30 miles east of Ann Arbor, and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Founded in 2010 and established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2014, the organization was inspired by "Reality's Place," an off-the-track Standardbred whose loss to colitis and related injuries continues to drive its mission. Reality's Chance rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes horses in need, while horses who aren't suited for adoption are given permanent sanctuary and paired with sponsors who visit and help care for them. Visitors are welcome to schedule barn tours and appointments to meet adoptable horses firsthand.
