The Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) is a humane society located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, about 70 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, MI. As Isabella County's only non-profit animal shelter serving both cats and dogs, HATS provides safe shelter, medical care, and second chances for hundreds of homeless or lost pets each year, and has been making Mid-Michigan a safer place for companion animals for 25 years. The shelter operates a health clinic and relies on adoption, volunteer, and foster programs to find animals their new homes. It is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00–5:00 PM, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Applicants view adoptable animals online and submit an application, then meet the pet at an appointment (with a dog-to-dog meeting if adding another dog), and finally complete paperwork and pay an adoption fee to finalize, receiving medical records and a sample of food.
