About this shelter

AS/AP Cat Shelter in Sparta, WI

AS/AP Cat Shelter is a cat rescue located in Sparta, Wisconsin, about 90 miles west of Rochester, MN. Founded in 1992 as a non-profit animal rescue group, it evolved by 2001 into a no-kill, limited-capacity cat shelter run entirely on private donations, fundraisers, and volunteers, with no financial support from the county, state, or any other group. The shelter takes in stray cats and kittens as space allows, providing veterinary exams, FIV/Leukemia testing, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and treatment for medical conditions before finding them permanent, loving homes. It also runs an outreach program to help community members with their own or found cats, depending on available resources.
