About this shelter

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Wisconsin in Neshkoro, WI

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Wisconsin is a rescue organization based in Neshkoro, Wisconsin, about 50 miles northeast of Appleton. GPRW is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Great Pyrenees since 2007, with more than 400 dogs placed into forever homes and an all-volunteer team running the operation. Dogs come to them after being abandoned, neglected, or surrendered by owners who could no longer care for them, and the rescue works to match each "gentle giant" with a family suited to the breed's independent, loyal temperament. The rescue is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and closed on weekends and holidays.

Adoption process

Prospective adopters fill out an online or printed adoption application, after which GPRW reviews it, checks references, and requires a home visit (including meeting household members and any current dogs); if all goes well, an adoption contract is signed to finalize the adoption.
