About this shelter

Shih tzu and Furbaby Rescue in Atlantic Beach, FL

Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue is a rescue organization based in Atlantic Beach, Florida, in Duval County, roughly 15 miles west of Jacksonville, and is one of 11 animal shelters and rescues serving Duval County. Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of small purebred and mixed breed dogs, including Shih Tzus and other toy breeds. The organization relies on a network of foster parents to provide dogs with a safe, loving environment while they work on socialization and prepare for adoption, and it carefully matches each dog with homes suited to its physical and emotional needs. Beyond placing dogs, the rescue is committed to educating the public about ethical, responsible, and humane pet guardianship.
