About this shelter

Miles to Freedom Animal Rescue in Oxford, ME

Miles to Freedom Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organization based in Oxford, Maine, about 15 miles east of Auburn. Its mission is to save dogs from overpopulated shelters and areas across the southern United States and find them loving, committed forever homes in New England, while also assisting the stray cat population in its local community. All animals in its care are spayed or neutered, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and provided proper veterinary care before adoption, with a network of foster homes helping to house, train, and love the animals in the meantime. The rescue accepts animals regardless of age, breed, or ease of placement, and keeps operating costs low so that funds go directly back into animal care.
