About this shelter
Kinder Way Berry Farm and Sanctuary in West Pawlet, VT
Kinder Way Berry Farm and Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter located in Pawlet, Vermont, roughly 20 miles northeast of Rutland. The sanctuary cares for approximately 100 rescued farmed animals, including cows, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, geese, and ducks, with a particular focus on animals with special needs, elderly animals, and those from law enforcement seizures or other special circumstances. What began years ago as a traditional farm in Colorado evolved into an animal sanctuary, and after relocating to Vermont in 2016, the organization purchased the former Liebig Berry Farm in West Pawlet in June 2023, where it now also grows organic U-Pick blueberries, strawberries, and other seasonal produce. The sanctuary is currently at capacity and closed for intake.
