About this shelter

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Welcome Center in Kanab, UT

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Welcome Center is located in Kanab, Utah, approximately 150 miles southwest of Henderson, NV, and is open daily Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It serves as the gateway to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for homeless pets, founded in 1984 and spread across nearly 5,800 acres of southern Utah's canyon country. The sanctuary is a healing home for up to 1,600 animals at a time, including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, horses, pigs, and rehabilitating wildlife, with most animals eventually finding good homes while some remain for life. Best Friends Animal Society operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters, working collaboratively with more than 5,500 shelters and rescue groups nationwide toward a no-kill future.
