About this shelter

Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary in Hartville, WY

Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary sits on 1,000 acres in Hartville, Wyoming, roughly 90 miles west of Casper, and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Founded in 2006, it is the only sanctuary in the United States dedicated to taking in non-primate research animals, providing lifelong care and rehabilitation to former research dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, cows, and llamas. It has given sanctuary to over one thousand animals since its founding, offering many of them a path to adoption while others remain as permanent residents cared for through the sanctuary's "Kindness Caretaker" program. Visitors can tour the ranch by appointment, and the organization operates as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
