Putnam County Animal Care—Animal Shelter operates in partnership with the Humane Society of Putnam County, serving Greencastle, Indiana, about 35 miles east of Indianapolis. It's open Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Every animal made available for adoption is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated with preventive medications, with any obvious health issues addressed before placement. Adoption fees start around $50, and each adoption includes veterinary and vaccination records, transition food, a blanket, toys, and a standing promise to always welcome the pet back if the placement doesn't work out.
