Charles Smithgall Humane Society in Sautee Nacoochee, GA
The Charles Smithgall Humane Society is a no-kill rural shelter located in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, about 50 miles southeast of Athens, GA, in the North Georgia mountains. It shelters and finds forever homes for unwanted, homeless, neglected, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats, and also rescues animals from high-kill shelters to give them respite and a second chance. Adoptions are by appointment only, and the shelter is supported entirely by donations from private individuals and businesses.
