Our Companions Animal Rescue is a rescue organization based in Manchester, Connecticut, about 9 miles west of Hartford. Its Animal Helpline provides free public support to pet owners, fielding around 4,000 calls a year, and the organization offers dog and cat behavior services, a veterinary assistance program, and adoption programs for dogs, cats, and small animals. It also operates an animal sanctuary in Ashford, CT, a place of rest and recovery for animals with special needs, including the Valerie Friedman Healing Center. The Manchester program center is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with no adoptable animals housed at that location.
