About this shelter

Brandywine Valley SPCA New Castle in New Castle, DE

Brandywine Valley SPCA New Castle is located in New Castle, Delaware, about 6 miles north of Wilmington, DE, and operates as a humane society. It is part of the Brandywine Valley SPCA, the largest animal welfare organization in the region and one of the only remaining open-access shelters, caring for more than 27,000 animals a year, including lost pets, abandoned dogs and cats, cruelty victims, pets needing rehoming, and homeless pets at risk of euthanasia elsewhere. The organization's mission centers on ending animal suffering and empowering communities, offering adoption, foster, and volunteer programs alongside services like low-cost wellness and spay/neuter clinics. Every dog and cat in its care receives individual enrichment, such as daily dog playgroups, while awaiting adoption.
