Helotes Humane Society is a humane society located in San Antonio, Texas, roughly 15 miles southeast of the city. It is a small non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the benevolent treatment of animals and provide humane education, taking in neglected, abandoned, and unwanted dogs and cats from Helotes and the surrounding San Antonio community. The organization spays and neuters, medically treats, and prepares animals for adoption into loving, forever homes, relying heavily on donations and volunteers, including a foster program and a Second Chances Thrift Shop that supports its work. It is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
