About this shelter

Edison Municipal Animal Shelter in Edison, NJ

Edison Municipal Animal Shelter is located at 125 Municipal Blvd. in Edison, New Jersey, roughly a mile southwest of town, and it serves the residents of Edison, Metuchen, and Highland Park. The shelter is open seven days a week from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed on major holidays), and visits require calling ahead for an appointment. Its adoption program aims to find every dog and cat in its care a "Forever Home," matching pets to families through staff who know the animals' personalities, with all cats and dogs vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. Beyond adoptions, the shelter's animal control officers operate 24/7, handling stray and injured animal pickups, cruelty and bite investigations, and wildlife removal from residents' living quarters.
