The Humane Society of the Felicianas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit humane society located in Jackson, Louisiana, about 25 miles south of Baton Rouge. Founded in November 2021 and operating in East Feliciana Parish, the organization runs The Thrifty Vet, a low-cost wellness and prevention clinic offering vaccines, rabies shots, heartworm testing and prevention, health exams, health certificates, and screening for minor illnesses. The clinic and shelter are open Tuesday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Thursday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The Humane Society encourages the community to spay and neuter their pets and relies on donations to support its mission.
