Friends of Strays Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg, FL

Friends of Strays Animal Shelter is St. Petersburg, Florida's oldest no-kill animal shelter, founded in 1978 and located about 15 miles northeast of Tampa, FL. Its top priority is connecting animals in need of rescue with people who will love them, and thousands of cats and dogs come through its doors every year to receive care from staff and volunteers. The shelter receives no government funding, relying instead on donors, and pairs pet adoption with programs promoting pet retention, community empowerment, and humane pet ownership education. It's open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
