Formerly known as Lee County Humane Society, the organization serves Auburn and Opelika residents with programs and services that strengthen the human-animal bond, prevent cruelty and neglect, provide medical care, and offer safety-net services for pet families in need. CARE cares for nearly 3,000 homeless animals each year through adoption, foster, and volunteer programs, and reports having provided lifesaving care to more than 100,000 pets over the past 50 years.
