The Cat Sanctuary in Eugene, OR

The Cat Sanctuary is situated in Eugene, Oregon, and is dedicated to the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for feral and stray cats. This process involves humanely trapping community cats, taking them to a veterinary clinic for spaying or neutering, vaccinating them, and ear tipping them, which indicates they have undergone the TNR program. After this care, the cats are returned to their outdoor homes, allowing them to continue living in the environments to which they are accustomed. We prioritize education about the importance of spaying and neutering and raise awareness about the overpopulation of cats in the Eugene and Springfield areas of Oregon. The Cat Sanctuary also offers immediate temporary shelter and care for cats in danger. We collaborate with appropriate adoption agencies to ensure assistance for cats in need. Our sanctuary serves the Lane County area of Oregon and extends outreach to Bend, Oregon. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving home for cats that are not adoptable, including elderly cats and those with physical or behavioral disabilities. Nearly a decade ago, a group of cat enthusiasts sought resources and information relevant to rescue efforts in Lane County, Oregon. This group established The Cat Sanctuary as a 501(c)(3) organization. After a period of inactivity, members have rejoined forces to revitalize The Cat Sanctuary's efforts in Eugene and surrounding areas, with plans to become fully operational by mid-2024.
