About this shelter

Aunt Helens Cats in Need in Hellertown, PA

Aunt Helen's Cats in Need is an organization based in the Lehigh Valley that specializes in Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) for feral cats. We focus on trapping, neutering, and releasing cats from local counties, promoting TNR programs within municipalities, and facilitating transportation to clinics that provide high-volume TNR services. Our all-volunteer trapping group prioritizes requests for assistance, giving preference to pregnant, injured, or at-risk cats. We collaborate with other local rescues to take in kittens and friendly cats, ensuring that non-feral cats receive the care they need. Occasionally, we accept injured or displaced cats to rehabilitate them, although we have limited foster spaces available for these animals. Additionally, we offer training and education on trapping techniques and emphasize the importance of reducing the stray cat population through spay and neuter initiatives.
