Adoption Process

The adoption process includes the following steps: an application submission along with references, a home visit, signing of a contract, and a required adoption fee ranging from $250 to $600.

"This is the first day of the rest of your life, and you will never have to worry again." We aspire for as many dogs as possible to hear these words. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey made it evident that we needed to do significantly more to assist sick, homeless, and abandoned dogs. Our initial mission resulted in the rescue of 47 dogs. We have witnessed heartbreaking situations that are difficult to forget. Our primary goal is to help homeless, neglected, or abused dogs find peaceful and loving homes. Most of our dogs come from the Deep South of Texas, a region currently facing a severe crisis. It is common to see numerous dogs on the streets, many of them emaciated, dehydrated, infested with ticks and fleas, injured, and helpless. Thousands of dogs are searching for families, while local shelters are overwhelmed, leaving many dogs to fend for themselves. We strive to provide a better future for these dogs. We bring them to Pennsylvania, where we offer love, healing, training, and the opportunity to find their forever homes. This is how we derived our name: the dogs come to PA—Pennsylvania—for a brief stay, serving as a pit stop on their journey to a permanent home. PA Pitstop.
