Adoption Process

The adoption process requires a fee of $200, along with the completion of an application and a home visit. A contract will also need to be signed. All adoptions begin with a two-week trial period, during which the pet can stay with you.

Service Areas

We place our dogs for adoption within a one hundred mile radius of the Philadelphia, PA area. Additionally, we have successfully adopted dogs to individuals in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and southern New Jersey.

The Polished Pitbull in Phoenixville, PA

The Polished Pitbull was established in 2008 with the mission to advocate for, educate about, and rescue pitbull-type dogs. Our dedication to these dogs is rooted in the understanding that they often require more support than many other breeds. Through our DNA analysis, which we conduct for every dog we rescue from shelters and subsequently adopt out, we have found that out of 60 tested dogs, only 2 were purebred. The remaining dogs were all mixed breeds, primarily pitbull mixes.
