Adoption Process

The adoption fee for dogs is $125 and for cats is $50, contingent upon an approved application and a successful home visit.

Our initial objective was to modernize the Granby Dog Pound for the 21st century. For many years, the city of Granby operated an outdated facility that lacked basic amenities. The pound had only three makeshift stalls for holding stray dogs, and there was no electricity or running water, leaving the animals exposed to harsh weather conditions. Without a dedicated animal control service, our local police department took on the additional responsibility of ensuring the welfare of these dogs. Thanks to the commitment of Catherine McFadden and the support of the Granby community, we have successfully raised funds to establish a new foundation for the Granby Dog Pound. Building on this progress, we recognized the need to extend our support beyond stray dogs to include stray cats. We have initiated a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program that serves not only the city limits but also the surrounding rural areas. The Granby Dog Pound will continue to operate for dogs within the city, while our organization will now also assist in rural communities. We have formed partnerships with other local rescues and shelters to help transfer homeless and neglected dogs from our city to loving homes. Our guiding principle is clear: Rescue is not just a verb; it is a promise.
