About this shelter
Hearts for Rescue in Poplar Bluff, MO
Hearts for Rescue is a foster-based animal rescue organization dedicated to taking in homeless animals. We provide them with care, including spaying and neutering, and work to find them new homes through community networking. Our mission addresses the issue of unwanted animals in our area, many of whom lack proper care and contribute to a cycle of reproduction. We aim to make a positive impact by educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Adopting from Hearts for Rescue
Adoption process
The adoption process includes several steps. First, we require an application to be submitted. Next, we contact veterinary references as well as landlord references. A formal home visit is then conducted. Following these steps, we have a contract that must be signed. This contract stipulates that if, for any reason, a family is unable to keep a dog, the dog must be returned to us.
