East Texas Animal Rescue in LANEVILLE, TX

Our Vision is to create a community where animals are valued and treated with respect and kindness. Our Mission is to provide care, comfort, and compassion to animals in need, helping them regain their health and find permanent homes. East Texas Animal Rescue was founded by Scott and Christina Russell. Scott is a lifelong animal lover and a Navy veteran, while Christina has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. Together, they have four dogs, one of which was rescued in Mt. Enterprise, and two cats. Upon moving to East Texas in early 2022, they noticed a significant number of stray, malnourished, neglected, and abused animals in the area. After rescuing their first dog, they encountered a continuous stream of animals requiring assistance. Local shelters in Rusk County are consistently at capacity, and nearby counties do not accept animals from outside their jurisdictions. Recognizing the urgent need for action, they founded East Texas Animal Rescue with the goal of saving as many animals as possible.
