Help Save Pets

Adoption Process

To ensure that we fulfill our commitment to helping dogs in need, we have established specific Adoption Policies and Procedures. Our rescue operates entirely through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, and we receive numerous applications. Adhering to strict requirements and understanding these policies will help streamline the adoption process, allowing us to place dogs in loving and responsible homes. 1. All adoptions are at the discretion of Ranger's Reach. No animal will be adopted without prior approval. 2. Complete the Adoption Application. We conduct background checks on all adults in the household, verify homeownership, contact landlords, reach out to veterinarians, perform online searches, and call personal references. If we are unable to verify any information or if a contact does not respond, the application will be denied. While this process may seem intrusive, it is a necessary step, and we take it seriously. Applications must be fully completed. 3. All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies. Pets must also be current on heartworm and flea preventative, which should be confirmed by your veterinarian. 4. Adoptions require either an in-home visit or a virtual home visit. A fenced yard is generally preferred, but we consider each dog's needs and the adopters' lifestyle on a case-by-case basis. We recognize that not all applicants have yards. 5. Adoption applications must include a copy of your driver's license or state-issued ID, which should be emailed to [email protected]. Applications will not be processed until this documentation is received. 6. There may be multiple applications for the dog you are interested in. We process applications in the order they are received, along with the driver's license or state ID submitted via email. If the dog you are interested in is adopted, we will inform you and may suggest other similar dogs that do not have pending applications. 7. It is important to note that we take great care in placing dogs in suitable homes. If the dog you are interested in is not a good fit for your home, lifestyle, or situation, we are happy to recommend other options. While we appreciate your interest in adopting, submitting an application does not guarantee that you will receive the dog you applied for. 8. Please apply for a dog only if you are fully prepared to adopt immediately. We do not hold dogs for any reason. Additional Information: Our adoption fees vary based on species, size, age, and other factors, with discounts available in some cases. The adoption fee covers deworming, heartworm testing (for dogs over six months), initiation of heartworm and flea/tick preventative, vaccinations (including bordetella, DHPPV, and rabies if age-appropriate), microchipping, and spaying/neutering at approved veterinary clinics. Puppies that are not altered due to age will be placed under a foster-to-adopt contract until they can be spayed or neutered, with an additional deposit of $100 required, refundable upon completion of the surgery. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand that these are rescue animals requiring time to adjust, routine, and stability. We invest our efforts in rescuing these dogs and expect their new families to be prepared for a lifelong commitment before applying, as dogs are not disposable. Out-of-State Adoption: A transportation fee of $300 is required in addition to the adoption fee. This fee covers the health certificate mandated by the USDA for travel, as well as transportation costs. Please be aware that our dogs are adopted to their forever families before transportation. Consequently, it is not possible to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption. We will facilitate communication through FaceTime, Zoom, or conversations with the dog's foster family. We only send well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs to ensure their well-being. Please check your local breed guidelines before applying. We kindly ask that you do not send emails inquiring about specific dogs. Instead, please complete the adoption application available on our website. As a fully volunteer-run organization, we strive to process applications as quickly as possible. We are not a shelter and do not have a physical location. We are an all-volunteer rescue, and all dogs are in private foster homes.

Rangers Reach Rescue in League City, TX

Ranger's Reach is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness, abuse, and neglect among animals. Our mission emphasizes the importance of community engagement, education, and inspiring action. We are a committed group focused on protecting and caring for animals through various means, including education, advocacy, resource provision, rescue, adoption, and community outreach. We aim to raise awareness and encourage community involvement to promote responsible pet ownership, particularly through spay/neuter programs. These initiatives are designed to reduce the suffering and overpopulation of unwanted animals, helping to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. We strive to build strong relationships with shelters, rescues, and community members to support essential needs such as food, vaccines, monthly preventive care, microchipping, and emergency expenses. Our goal is to develop a network of supporters, sponsors, volunteers, foster caregivers, veterinarians, donors, and transporters who are united in their commitment to saving animals and addressing the tragic situations many face daily in our area. We continuously seek to engage the public's compassion for homeless pets, fostering a powerful awareness that makes neglect, homelessness, and the euthanasia of companion animals entirely unacceptable.
