Adoption process

To adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue, please follow these steps: Begin by completing the online adoption application. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed and forwarded to a volunteer in your area. This volunteer will reach out to schedule a home visit within one week. Currently, home visits are conducted virtually instead of in person. After the home visit is successfully completed and you receive approval, you can start meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will provide assistance throughout this process. It is important to note that the application process starts immediately upon submission, and approvals are typically granted quickly. Please only submit an application if you are prepared to adopt a dog, as Austin Boxer Rescue does not have the capacity to hold dogs. Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are unable to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer, your application will be set aside, and you will need to resubmit if you wish to adopt at a later date. Every dog adopted from Austin Boxer Rescue will be: Up to date on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Microchipped Treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical issues will be addressed and covered by the rescue. However, after adoption, any new medical problems that arise will be the responsibility of the new owner. Adoption fees are as follows: Boxers (ages 1-5 years) = $275 Adult Boxer Mixes (ages 1-5 years) = $175 Mixed Puppies (under 1 year) = $250 Purebred Puppies (under 1 year) = $400 Bonded Pairs under 5 years (adopted together) = $425 Bonded Pairs over 5 years (adopted together) = $250 Non-Boxers (any age) = $100 Senior Dogs (ages 6-9 years) = $175 Boxers seeking permanent fosters or Silver Hearts (10+ years) = No fee
