Adoption Process

The adoption fees are as follows: $75 for senior pets, $125 for adult pets, and $200 for unaltered puppies. We will cover the cost of spaying or neutering once the animals are old enough. Adopters must agree to maintain current vaccinations, provide heartworm prevention year-round, and ensure a safe and loving home for the adopted pet.

Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG Rescue) is dedicated to supporting abandoned, neglected, unclaimed, and surrendered dogs and puppies in the Wimberley area and western Hays County. The organization accepts dogs and puppies of all ages and conditions in need of assistance. WAG Rescue provides both medical and emotional care for these animals, offering a nurturing environment where they receive training and socialization until they are ready for adoption into loving, permanent homes. The organization advocates for the compassionate treatment of all animals and works to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. WAG Rescue also promotes spaying and neutering pets to prevent overpopulation and alleviate animal suffering. Additionally, it serves as a resource for lost and found animals in western Hays County. As the Administrative Director of WAG Rescue, I manage shelter software and have been with the organization since 2010. My commitment to this role is driven by my passion for helping dogs.
