Austin Pets Alive!

Adoption process

To adopt a dog or cat from our organization, please follow these steps: 1. Visit our website to view available pets. You can filter your search by species, breed, size, and other characteristics to find a match that suits your preferences. 2. Once you find a pet that interests you, complete the online adoption application. This application will help us understand your home environment and suitability for the pet. 3. After submitting your application, a member of our team will review it and contact you to discuss the next steps. This may include a phone interview to further discuss your application and the specific needs of the pet. 4. If your application is approved, you will be invited to meet the pet in person. This step is crucial to ensure a good fit between you and the animal. 5. If the meet-and-greet goes well, you can proceed with the adoption. We will guide you through the necessary paperwork and explain the adoption fee, which helps support our organization and its mission. 6. Once the adoption is finalized, you will receive information on how to care for your new pet and any additional resources you may need. Thank you for considering adoption and for giving a deserving animal a loving home.
