Adoption Process

We strive to match cats with the most suitable living environments for everyone involved. Some cats thrive in homes without children, dogs, or other cats, while others enjoy the company of children, dogs, and other felines. Our goal is to ensure that every member of the household is happy. The adoption process begins with the completion of an application. Applicants must provide two personal references and a veterinary reference; if a veterinary reference is not available, three personal references are required. We will verify these references. Additionally, a contract must be signed, which includes commitments such as returning the cat if you are dissatisfied, providing necessary veterinary care, and ensuring adequate food and shelter. After you reach out to us, we will email you the application and contract. Once we receive the completed application, verify the references, and conduct an interview, the adoption will be approved. Please note that we do not ship or provide transportation for the cats. We only adopt to residents of Texas and the immediate surrounding states. The adoption donations for Persian, Himalayan, Exotic Shorthair, Ragdoll, and Maine Coon breeds are as follows: $150 for adult cats and between $175 and $275 for kittens, depending on their age, gender, and breed. Other breeds may have different adoption donation amounts. We only accept adoption donations via credit card (through PayPal) or cash; we do not accept checks.

South Texas Persian Rescue in San Antonio, TX

We are a rescue organization dedicated to saving Persian, Himalayan, Exotic Shorthair, and Ragdoll cats. Most of our rescued cats come from shelters, while others are surrendered by their owners due to family or financial circumstances or behavioral issues. We ensure that all cats receive treatment for any existing medical conditions, are spayed or neutered, tested for FIV and FELV, and vaccinated before adoption. Additionally, we address and resolve any behavioral problems. Our foster cats live in real homes with foster parents, allowing them to acclimate to a home environment.
